Beginning on October 2nd 2016, Act Two of VE: OMWF got off to a great start with an entertaining and fun OPTIONAL challenge bringing more laughs than ever before from an optional VE challenge.

Sing "Modern Major General" from the 1897 Classic operetta "Pirates of Penzance" in a solo layer
Sing "Prologue" from the "Into The Woods" But Replace THE WORD "WOODS" with a scream or shout

Whilst waiting for the competition to begin, contestants were invited to join the judges in a culmination of talent, resulting in this rendition of 'We Go Together' from Grease
Round One - Love
Our musical theatre contestants were challenged to show their talent, by singing a song about being IN LOVE - and songs about lost love, or unrequited love were not allowed.

Round Two - Dance
Dance, 10, Looks, 3?
Choreography and fun dance numbers are huge in musical theatre, usually accompanied by energetic vocals or fun ensemble pieces... So thats the challenge - a song which is usually accompanied by choreographed movement!

Round Three - Sadness
Make the judges want to get down on their knees and cry like little bitches... That was the premise for this round!
Using songs of sadness on a tragic level, the contestants were tasked with showing and communicating intense emotion.

Round Four - Duets
Contestants were partnered with another contestant, at random, and were tasked with turning a solo song into a duet.
The solo had to be from one of the partnerships fave musical (requested in a survey at the beginning of the competition)

Round Four - Duets (Take Two)
Flipping the previous round on its head, contestants now had to perform a duet of at least two different characters, both performed by themselves.

Round Six - Musical Mashups
Contestants took on the challenging task of creating a mashup of at least three component songs, all from the same musical show!
